Tomorrow Is a Long Time is a Bob Dylan song he wrote early in his career. He cut it as a publishing demo for M. Witmark & Sons in December 1962, but he didn't release a version of his own until 1971. That one is a live recording from his April 12, 1963 concert at New York's Town Hall. The Witmark demo finally came out in 2010.

While Dylan's own version sat on the shelf, other singers picked up the song. Ian & Sylvia were the first to release it. Elvis Presley recorded it in May 1966, and Dylan once said Elvis's take was the recording he treasured most.
