June Apple
Jam-Along Backing Track
Lyrics
Wish I were a June apple hanging on a tree
Everytime my true love pass, take a bite of me
Take a bite of me, Lord, take a bite of me
Everytime my true love pass, take a bite of me
Every night when I come home, my wife I try to please her
The harder I try, the worse she gets, damned if I don't leave her
Damned if I don't leave her, damned if I don't leave her
The harder I try, the worse she gets, damned if I don't leave her
Peaches in the summertime, apples in the fall
If I can't have the girl I love, I don't want none at all
Don't want none at all, Lord, don't want none at all
If I can't have the girl I love, I don't want none at all

About This Song
June Apple is an old-time fiddle tune with deep Appalachian roots, made famous by Doc Watson's flatpicked version. It's one of the more accessible instrumental tunes for jam sessions.
