About This Song
Monroe's Hornpipe is a classic fiddle tune from Bill Monroe, the Father of Bluegrass. It's a great example of Monroe's driving mandolin style and remains a staple at jam sessions. While it moves at a brisk tempo and requires solid timing, the straightforward three-chord progression makes it accessible for intermediate players ready to tackle traditional fiddle tunes.
