About This Song
Wheel Hoss is a classic fiddle tune that's a staple at bluegrass jams. Written by Bill Monroe, it's named after the "wheel horse" - the horse positioned nearest the wheels in a team - and features Monroe's driving, rhythmic style that makes it a favorite for showcasing tight ensemble playing.
