About This Song

West Dakota Rose is a beautiful fiddle tune in a minor key, originally composed by Texas fiddler Benny Thomasson. It's become a favorite at jams for its haunting melody and the challenge of playing confidently in C# minor - a less common key in bluegrass that keeps players on their toes.
